Students will research a topic which compares and contrasts a health issue in the United States to another society or culture. They will research background information on the health issue, including incidence and prevalence information for the nation as a whole and the other culture or society. Students will use critical thinking skills to compare and contrast the society or culture with the US and provide clear rationale for any differences they discover. Students will prepare a presentation with their findings and submit it to Blackboard.
Students will research and discuss the following for the presentation: 1) background information on the health issue for both societies/ cultures (i.e. the US and the other selected culture 2) discuss health implications, 3) identify populations impacted, and 4) compare and contrast the health issue it to the United States culture. There should be a minimum of five (5) peer-reviewed and reputable references in APA format found for the topic.
