• theory to examine social media’s influence on body image and its effect on eating disorder predictors among adolescents.
• To examine and explore how these effects from social media usage can result in mental health disparities that affect women

A Literature Review

1- Verma, Arush (Dec2015)the aim of this qualitative research was to identify how young women conceptualise eating disorders and to investigate how the media discusses and presents eating disorders., The results indicated that having a personal experience with eating disorders significantly influences the perception one has of the illness.

Results: About 33% of the sample had EAT- 26 scores 20 and 45% showed mild to marked concerns about

their body shape. Women students were significantly more concerned about their shape, and more influenced by

media than men. There were significant differences in the means of all scores, except for media influence.
