In this article, the authors look at the impact of immigration, focusing on three key areas; economic growth, public purse, and labor market. They argue that migration represents the economic and social life of many countries across the World. It is important to note that these immigrants vary due to several ways. Immigrants, for example, in Europe, enjoy free movement rights. In New Zealand, Canada, and Australia, there is a reliance on managed labor migration. Migration, in whatever form it comes in, has important impacts on the economy.

One of the ways in which migration plays a role in our economy is through an improvement in the labor market. They note that immigrants have represented a 47 percent increase in the total US workforce and 70 percent across Europe. Immigrants are playing a pivotal role in shifting the kind of workforce in the majority of the sectors. New immigrants represent more than 20 percent of entries into the most dynamic occupations such as Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, and Science in the US. Immigrants do not also choose the jobs in which to be. They end up taking much of the jobs left by others for being challenging or unstructured. Migrants also contribute more in taxes than they get benefits from the government for their contribution. They contribute more to infrastructure projects and get less or no help from programs such as Medicaid. This source will be used to establish a possible solution to the issue of solving misconceptions over the immigration community. While talking about the many ways they have improved the economy.

Jawetz, Tom. “Building a More Dynamic Economy: The Benefits of Immigration.” Center for Economic Progress, 2019,

For years, the author notes that immigrants have contributed to the country’s growth and development in a big way. Immigrants are still helping to build their country’s economy in several ways. When it comes to immigration, various prominent names such as Yahoo, Google, Apple, and Amazon come into mind as immigrants or their generations founded them. Immigrants or their children founded nearly 44 percent on the Fortune 500 list of 2018. These companies have significant impact on the US economy in that they, for example, contributed revenues of $5.5 trillion. This amount is larger than the GDP of almost every country of the World except for China and the United States. Immigrants also contribute much to job creations across the United States, owning a fifth of all small businesses in the country. Job creation goes very well with economic growth, mostly due to taxes, among other things. They have also made many streets and towns to grow owing to these businesses. For example, they own 38 percent of all restaurants, 45 percent of all salons, 53 percent of all greengrocers, and 60 percent of all gas stations. Immigrants are also helping transform rural areas majorly through an increase in the working population. Areas that had their businesses close down are now able to thrive under immigrants. The information given to us from this paper will be used to argue about the company’scontributions to the country revenue meaning that they would be strugglingwithout the immigrants.

Pezzini, Mario., Tomei, Manuella. “How Immigrants Contribute to Growing Countries’ Economy” OECD Development, 2018,

The authors note that it is estimated that developing countries host more than a third of all immigrants across the World. They note that though immigrants play a huge role in the growth of an economy, majorly through job creation, not many countries have knowledge on how immigrants contribute to the economy. In the report, the authors try to highlight immigrants’ work in three key areas: public finance, economic growth, and the labor market. In the labor markets, the authors note that immigrants’ financial contribution is well related to their integration in the labor market of a particular country. In most states, immigrants take up more jobs than natives. There is, however, not much in decent work; they have to put up with what is available. Concerning economic growth, Immigrants have a 19 percent contribution to the GDP compared to 1 percent in Ghana. Lastly, immigrants help to increase the revenue available for spending on services such as infrastructure. However, the authors note that sometimes, the benefits they derive from the government cost more than the revenue they bring to the economy. This is true for countries such as Nepal and Kyrgyzstan.  This study will be used mainlyto debate arguments of growing economy as it shoes a trend for what needs to be said.

Sherman, Arloc., Trisi, Danilo., Stone, Chad., and Parrott Sharon. “Immigrants Contribute Greatly to U.S. Economy, Despite Administration’s “Public Charge” Rule Rationale” Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 2019,

The authors highlight how the Department of Homeland Security has made it hard for immigrants to come into the US or live in the country. This problem has resulted from the implementation of the “public charge” rule which makes it hard for one to be accepted into the country through the borders. Most of those in the government may not have access to several public benefits such as housing assistance and Medicaid that make one feel like a citizen. The reason for this control is the false assumption that immigrants are harmful to the economy and country, being an insult to them. One of the characteristics of immigrants is their ability to work harder than natives. They make up over a third of the total workforce even though their numbers are relatively low as compared to the natives. They are also quite mobile, moving to areas that require new workers within a little time. They can fill in in the economy and help reduce the disadvantages of low labor. Immigrants also help fill the gap left by the aging individuals born in the country. This source will be used to argue the false assumptions that immigration is harmful to the economy and country. This will better help get facts about all that they provide.

Xpress Money. “How Immigrants Benefit the Host Economy” Xpress Money, n.d.

Immigration is a topic that generates intense debate, according to the author. It refers to the movement of people from the country they were born to a new country. They do this in search of a better future for their family and themselves. It can be said that immigrants benefit a country’s economy in many ways, including technological growth and economic growth. Many individuals come to a country intending to improve their chances of getting or creating a job. The financial contribution owed to the immigrants is dependent on their blending into a country’s workforce. The more it is easy to get a job, the more revenue generated. The revenue creation depends on the output level, so if you have a bunch of hardworking immigrants, the more you reap in terms of revenue. Immigrants also help bring in new skills that lead to economic growth in the long run. Immigrants have founded over half of the startups with an over $1 billion in the United States. Immigrants also fill in right management positions such as the VP and CTO. Some of the biggest companies in the technology industry are a testimony to immigrants’ power in job creation and economic growth. The ability to accommodate immigrants, therefore, affects the overall productivity of a country. This source will be used to showcase examples of all the skills that lead to the economic growth, it will briefly show the impact of them moving to the us and how it affects them.
