Qatar Gas & Ras Gas Merge
This proposal is going to be addressing the merge of Qatar Gas and RasGas company in Qatar. The merging activity was aimed to save an estimate of 2 billion Qatari riyals. Qatari companies are the largest LNG producers in the world.
On January of the year 2018, the merge of both Qatar Gas and Ras Gas was announced which is the biggest change for these companies. The merging process has been completed by January 1st, 2019 which mean that the merge activity token about a year. The main goal for the merge activity is to combine the resources and capabilities to create a unique and large energy company in terms of size. This change process is huge for both companies and considered a new change. The merge process was aimed to create a company that has one shared vision, management system and work culture. This new change has resulted in creating the organization long-term stability, reliability and security of supply. These are considered the most important results from this change and the reason for having a better competitive advantage.
The merging activity was delayed due to the issues faced by the companies in the pipeline. The president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum Saad Sherida al-Kaabi have said that the contractor assigned has not performed well. The company are working on buying a new pipeline and the issues are going to be fixed in the next couple of years.
Mr. Rashid Al-Marri, Maintenance Planner of Qatar Gas will be the person that we are going to be contacting for the research. The research will focus on clarifying the change process that token place and the obstacles faced and how the organization overcome them.
