Assignment 3: Problem-solving Assignment on a Sustainability Initiative at Humber College
In this assignment you will write a short (2 page) proposal on reducing plastic waste on campus. You will propose an initiative that focuses on reduction rather than recycling of plastic. (Use the language of sustainability rather than that of pollution or litter) The proposal, in memo format, will be addressed to the Sustainability Committee at Humber College (sust.ctee@humber.ca).
Guidelines:
- Submit short informal proposal in memo format
- Observe length of 450-500 words, single-spaced, full-block
- Use 12 pt. Times New Roman
- Give in-text citations when paraphrasing and an APA references page for all secondary research.
For this assignment you will:
- Identify the problem
- Analyze the problem and diagnose possible reasons for the problem
- Search for alternative solutions using the research links provided
- Evaluate the alternatives and choose the most appropriate solution
- Produce a proposal in memo format with APA references
