You have been introduced to some fundamental modes in stand-up and some possible research topics. Your Annotated Bibliography must include two of the texts we read in class and two texts that you find on your own. In the Synthesis, you will use secondary sources to analyze a specific stand-up comedy performance, and you will create a synthesis of all your sources in the form of a research question. So this first writing project is a practical first step in that finding some secondary sources that address a topic area within a stand-up comedy that interests you.
Task:
Each annotation should be approximately half a page, organized in two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, introduce the text and sum up the most important ideas, using one specific example from the text as an illustration of supporting evidence. In the second paragraph, respond to the text by explaining how this evidence might work as a starting point for a possible research project. In other words, what questions and possible insights might this evidence lead to in a research project? Throughout your Annotated Bibliography, focus on communicating your ideas clearly, incoherent paragraphs, and with attention to sentence-level correctness. Remember to also include a properly formatted MLA Citation. (Typed and stapled, with 1-inch margins all around (top, bottom, left and right sides) written in Times New Roman font; written in 12 point font size double- spaced).
